“What’s it REALLY like?”

Massachusetts Maritime Academy had one mission:
Connect potential students to the on-campus experience.

A day in the life at MMA is full of incredibly diverse, unique moments which make for an incomparable student experience. What if we could collect all these moments in a way that would allow potential students to immerse themselves in the experience without traveling to the school?

It’s worth noting the importance of the little moments in a story like this - seeing the ship during morning formation, talking to the lunch attendant, and checking books out from the library are all the things that ACTUALLY make up the days of students, and focusing on those moments creates separation from the slew of generic academic promotions.

We needed the experience to be immersive, so we created a custom cinematic point-of-view camera rig with stereo microphones. A minimal footprint meant we were able to maintain grounded visuals while allowing us to focus on capturing real moments.

The Result: A never before seen perspective on campus life at MMA.
